Maybe a misprint, but his name was Joseph Musso. Joe was great friends with fellow restaurateur Bert Rovere (my great uncle) and married Bert’s sister Emma (my grandma). Joe sold his interest in Musso & Franks about a year or so after it’s opening so he could start his own place. It was a popular eatery until his death and eventual closure.
