Grayco neon display postcard, circa 1935. The first neon signs in the U.S. were installed in Los Angeles in 1923 by Packard auto dealer Earle C. Anthony. The Grayco sign seen here was touted as the largest in Los Angeles. “Grayco” was the brand name of men’s neckware and shirts manufactured in Los Angeles by the Marion R. Gray Company.
