Would love to get information on the Sontag drug store, would love if I could get photos if possible, my maiden name was Sontag I’m from Oklahoma ,but live in Texas, how did the name of the drug store come about, I’m glad to see that it is spelled like my maiden name, since there are different was of spelling it. This is a great find for my I’m doing the family tree and I’m looking for information
The chain was founded by my grandfather in the 1930s. He had two siblings but they had no children so I don’t think we could be related through him. His family immigrated to Philadelphia in the early 1900’s. They came from a small town near Dorohoi. Sontag was a common Jewish name there prior to WWII
